New Paper Craft: Wilhelma Moorish Banqueting Hall Free Building Paper Model Download

Wilhelma Moorish Banqueting Hall Free Building Paper Model DownloadThis building paper model is the Moorish Banqueting Hall, the most beautiful and the largest of the Wilhelma buildings, built in 1851 as a place for royal festivities, receptions and balls, the papercraft was created by 3Dconcret.

The Moorish Villa and Moorish Banqueting Hall were separated by the Moorish Garden and linked to each other by the Covered Walkway.

Amongst the absolute social highlights were the Stuttgart Imperial Days in September 1853. King Wilhelm I of Württemberg had invited Tsar Alexander II and the French Emperor Napoleon III to a meeting of reconciliation at Wilhelma. During the war, in 1944, the Moorish Banqueting Hall was heavily damaged by bombing. In 1961, after much deliberation - controversial as the decision was - the remains were completely demolished. Today the Aquarium with the Crocodile Hall is standing at the site.

One small section of the original façade has survived. It forms the wall at the side of the Aquarium facing the Water Lily Pond. Behind this wall, on the first floor, is a small seminar room, from which one has a wonderful view of the Moorish Garden. The room can be rented for conferences. [Source: wilhelma]
