This mecha paper model is James, a Candy Person who accompanies Finn, Jake, and Princess Bubblegum on their mission to collect samples in the episode “James” of the American animated television series Adventure Time, the papercraft is created by WebDude.
James is, as described by Jake, rather “goofy” as he likes to make various sounds and talks with a happy and silly tone, even in serious situations. He does, however, seem to be smart, as he is chosen to assist Princess Bubblegum on her mission, and he is able to co-pilot Bubblegum’s giant vehicle. He also apparently fixes the ship’s radio, until his plan is sabotaged by Princess Bubblegum.
When things around the transport vehicle are sabotaged, Jake suspects James, but it turns out to be Princess Bubblegum. She convinces James to leave the transport to act as bait and lead the monsters away while she carries the others to safety.
Princess Bubblegum clones James using a piece of him he gave her before he left and presents the clone with a medal. Meanwhile, the real James has been turned into a goo monster and is last seen leading the other monsters out of the pit they were in.
In “James II,” Finn and Jake discover James’ clone has been repeatedly faking his own death, “saving” Princess Bubblegum from minor or nonexistent threats so he can have friends just like himself and continue getting medals, resulting in 25 James clones. The two then enjoy watching Princess Bubblegum get angry when she discovers the trickery and recruit Bubblegum to watch the incompetent Banana Guards unsuccessfully attempt to wrangle the various James clones, who are just as incompetent as the Banana Guards.
Princess Bubblegum finally strips James II of his medal collection just as the original James and the goo monsters attack the Candy Kingdom. James II decides to prove he is a hero after all by stopping the goo-monster James I from melting Princess Bubblegum. He sacrifices himself by leaping on top of the monster and being melted, followed in turn by all the other James clones. This results in James I and the 25 clones merging into one Multi-James, who gets back his medals and is “rewarded” by being sent off by Bubblegum into the desert, with the promise of still more medals if he goes. As the Multi-James leaves, Bubblegum notes that she will not miss him. [Source: wikia]
