New Paper Craft: WWII SU-76 Self-propelled Gun and T-40 Amphibious Light Tank Free Paper Models Download

WWII SU-76 Self-propelled Gun and T-40 Amphibious Light Tank Free Paper Models DownloadHere are SU-76 and T-40 paper models, two Soviet armored weapons used during World War II, the papercrafts are created by Robert Navratil, and the scale is in 1:87 (H0).

The SU-76 was a Soviet self-propelled gun used during and after World War II. The SU-76 was based on a lengthened and widened version of the T-70 light tank chassis. Its simple construction made it the second most produced Soviet armoured vehicle of World War II, after the T-34 tank.

Crews liked the vehicle for its simplicity, reliability, and ease of use. However, the steering was also sometimes regarded as cumbersome, leading crews to also refer to the vehicle as suka (Russian: сука; "bitch") or suchka (Russian: сучок; "little bitch"). It was also nicknamed Golozhopiy Ferdinand(Russian: Голожопый Фердинанд; "bare-arsed Ferdinand") due to its very light armor and somewhat similar silhouette, when compared to the Germans" heavy Ferdinand/Elefant casemate tank destroyer of some 65 tonnes in weight.

The T-40 amphibious scout tank was an amphibious light tank used by the Soviet Union during World War II. It was armed with one 12.7 mm (0.5 in) DShKmachine gun. It was one of the few tanks that could ford a river without a bridge.

It was primarily intended to equip reconnaissance units. A land-based version of the T-40, the T-40S, was produced, although was later redesignated theT-60. The T-60 was cheaper, simpler, better-armed, and could fulfill most of the same roles, so T-40 production was halted.

The vehicle served mainly in Operation Barbarossa and the defense of Moscow, and it was rarely seen after that point, although it was used in Soviet training schools until 1946. A total 44 examples of the type were later fitted with Katyusha rocket launchers, firing 82 mm unguided rockets from a 24-rail launcher. [Source: wikipedia]

New Paper Craft: Nazi Germany VK 1602 Leopard Reconnaissance Vehicle Paper Model Free Template Download

Nazi Germany VK 1602 Leopard Reconnaissance Vehicle Paper Model Free Template DownloadThis paper model is a VK 1602 Leopard, a planned Nazi German reconnaissance vehicle/light tank, the papercraft is shared by Paper Tanks, and the scale is in 1:35.

The VK 1602 Leopard was designed from March through October 1942, with the serial production scheduled for April 1943, but the project was abandoned before the first prototype was built. It was originally planned to arm the vehicle with the 75 mm KwK 41, although that was changed to a smaller 50 mm cannon which was used on late Pz IIIs. The VK 1602 had largely sloped frontal armour, influenced by the Panther medium tank. In order to increase cross-country performance, the VK 1602 was fitted with 350 mm wide tracks.

Production was scheduled to begin in April 1943, but the project was cancelled in January of that same year. The reason for this was that the 50 mm L/60 was insufficient for combat against modern Soviet and Western tanks, though it was useful against the British and American light tanks and Soviet amphibious light tanks. Also, the Leopard had a very high weight and the Sd.Kfz. 234 armoured car (also armed with a 50 mm cannon) could be used as a scout, though it was more vulnerable and could not traverse rough ground as easily. The Leopard chassis was also planned for use as the base for either a 20 mm Flakvierling mount (quadruple 20 mm anti-aircraft guns) or a single 37 mm gun in an anti-aircraft turret.
