New Paper Craft: MechWarrior 4 - Wildcat (MekTek) Free Mech Paper Model Download

MechWarrior 4 - Wildcat (MekTek) Free Mech Paper Model DownloadThis mech paper model is Wildcat (MekTek), a mech from the video game MechWarrior 4, the papercraft is created by BLaaR. The size of finished model is about 265 (H) x 216 (W) x 151 (D) mm.

The Wildcat represents a renewed Clan Star Adder presence in "Mech design and production. Its inspired, razor-thin silhouette belies an Endo Steel frame and thirteen-and-a-half tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor, components normally seen on much bulkier "Mechs. Housed within the narrow framework is a modified 300-grade engine, allowing the Wildcat to move at a respectable 65 km/h while still maintaining just enough space to include its weapons loadout. To handle the excess heat generated by its array of energy weapons, Star Adder engineers also squeezed 11 double heat sinks into an already crowded space.

The Wildcat has the necessary components to support a Guardian ECM Suite, jump jets, a Laser Anti-Missile System, and an advanced Gyro system, but does not have the space for them in its primary configuration. [Source: sarna]

New Paper Craft: MechWarrior 4 - Mektek Ursus Free Mech Paper Model Download

MechWarrior 4 - Mektek Ursus Free Mech Paper Model DownloadThis mech paper model is Mektek Ursus, Khan Bjorn Jorgensson"s ideal fusion between Clan and Inner Sphere technologies, from the video game MechWarrior 4, the papercraft is created by BLaaR. The finished model stands about 26 cm tall.

The first Clan BattleMech designed and manufactured entirely and exclusively in the Inner Sphere, the Ursus uses Inner Sphere technology that has not been surpassed by that of the Clans where possible to maximize the efficiency of the factories Clan Ghost Bear captured during the Clan invasion. The rest of the parts are imported from Clan space. Though it took over seven years, Ghost Bear technicians made the Clan and Inner Sphere parts work together to create this second-line "Mech. The Ursus finally saw full-scale production in 3059 and was shipped to garrison units throughout the touman. Eight and a half tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor protect this design, but only because it would have been inefficient to use any more. An ECM Suite is also used to disrupt enemy electronics. [Source: sarna]

New Paper Craft: MechWarrior 4 - Mektek Kanazuchi Free Mech Paper Model Download

MechWarrior 4 - Mektek Kanazuchi Free Mech Paper Model DownloadThis mech paper model is Mektek Kanazuchi, a Draconis Combine battle armor design, one of the heaviest to come from that realm, from the video game MechWarrior 4, the papercraft is created by BLaaR and Cantaris. The size of finished model is about 160 (H) x 132 (W) x 116 (D) mm.

It also saw the most trouble getting approved. Development of the suit began in July 3053 as soon as the Raiden reached its prototype stage and its designers began working on a suit which would carry more weapons and armor. Originally it was to be called the "Komodo" but when the popular Komodo BattleMech was introduced that same year the name was changed. Progress proceeded smoothly until the summer of 3054 when DCMS High Command severely reduced the project"s budget due to lack of faith in its design. Undeterred, the team continued their work, often with little or no pay, in order to finally reach the prototype stage in November 3055.

Unfortunately the first trials were a disaster for the ungainly suit, weighed down with one ton of armor and a dizzying array of weapons: a medium laser, two small lasers, two SRM-2 racks, a flamer and a submachine gun. Not only was the Kanazuchi slow to move, it was exhausting to wear, and several times its test pilots suffered serious injury from feedback or excessive torque. High Command nearly killed the project again, but the design team had faith in their ability to build a suit which would meet expectations and for the next year worked round-the-clock with no pay on a redesign. When the second prototype was demonstrated before the Coordinator and High Command, it performed well enough to warrant a tripling of the team"s budget. Within eighteen months the suit was ready for its final test, when a captured Timber Wolf was brought in to fire its ER PPC at it. While the direct hit virtually destroyed the Kanazuchi, the test pilot inside remained alive and the suit was still functional enough to respond with a couple of shots from its main weapon. Mass production of the suit began in December 3058, although relatively few were built at first. This changed after the Combine-Ghost Bear War and the Kanazuchi soon became a common sight to the citizens of the Combine. [Source: sarna]

New Paper Craft: MechWarrior 4 - Mektek Jenner IIC Free Mech Paper Model Download

MechWarrior 4 - Jenner IIC Free Mech Paper Model DownloadThis mech paper model is Mektek Jenner IIC, first fielded in September 2784, the same year the Exodus fleet that would eventually become the Clans left the Inner Sphere in November, from the video game MechWarrior 4, the papercraft is created by BLaaR and Cantaris. The size of finished model is about 185 (H) x 147 (W) x 131 (D) mm.

How exactly they acquired this design in that short timeframe is not known, but what is known is that the Clan version fields Clan weaponry, so it is known as the Jenner IIC. This second-line BattleMech is still a fast light that is now capable of delivering plenty of short-range missiles. To achieve this, it uses an XL Engine, Endo Steel structure, and mounts only three and a half tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor. It also carries enough jump jets to leap up to 210 meters at a time. This results in an expensive garrison "Mech, but one that is still in production nonetheless.

Unique among the IIC models, the Jenner IIC changes the leg mechanism found on the original design. While the original Jenner, despite otherwise sharing design characteristics common in Marauder-descended reverse articulated "Mechs, had standard forward articulated legs, the IIC model has reverse articulated legs similar to those on the Stormcrow. [Source: sarna]

New Paper Craft: MechWarrior 4 - Mektek Grizzly Free Mech Paper Model Download

MechWarrior 4 - Mektek Grizzly Mech Paper ModelThis mech paper model is Mektek Grizzly, a BattleMech that was developed by Clan Ghost Bear scientists in the 30th century, from the video game MechWarrior 4, the papercraft is created by Shiftdel, and the scale is in 1:40. The size of finishedmodel is about 263 (H) x 166 (W) x 146 (D) mm.

Unfortunately, the design excels at no one thing, so it never carved a niche in the Clan"s touman. Thirteen tons of armor are mounted on an Endo Steel frame. Jump jets are mounted so that the Grizzly can leap up to 120 meters at a time. Aside from the jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none moniker, the Grizzly is also poorly engineered. Slagged armor tends to get stuck in joints and weapons, while the actuators are difficult to repair in their own right. Production ceased in 3013 and the remaining "Mechs were relegated to green Provisional Garrison Clusters. [Source: sarna]

New Paper Craft: MechWarrior 4 - Mektek Dervish Free Mech Paper Model Download

MechWarrior 4 - Mektek Dervish Free Mech Paper Model DownloadThis mech paper model is Mektek Dervish, a highly mobile fire support BattleMech, from the video game MechWarrior 4, the papercraft is created by BLaaR. The size of finished model is about 250 (H) x 149 (W) x 102 (D) mm.

Commissioned in 2520 by the Lyran Commonwealth, the Dervish has a maximum speed of 86.4 km/h, letting it keep up with and support most Succession Wars-era medium and light models. Five jump jets also gives the "Mech a jumping capability of one hundred and fifty meters, allowing it to move through rough terrain with ease; these were originally an afterthought in the design but have proven their worth. While regarded by some as a poor man"s Archer, the Dervish"s speed and weaponry nevertheless allow it to provide quick fire support and free larger "Mechs for other duties. The design"s major flaws are its armoring which, while sufficient to handle small and medium weapons, is inadequate against heavier firepower and its lack of hand actuators.

The Dervish was among the first "Mechs mass-produced by the Great Houses and has served as a workhorse for their armies since its introduction. It was eventually commissioned into the Star League Defense Force during the Reunification War, with the Terran Hegemony providing funds to allow their original model Dervishes be upgraded to the DV-6M standard in 2610. Its service in the SLDF ensured the widespread proliferation of the design; even ComStar Explorer Corps missions into the Deep Periphery have found examples of original-model Dervishes among the forces of Nueva Castile. Over the course of the Succession Wars however the "Mech"s numbers decreased due to loss or lack of parts, and all but one of Achernar"s factories was destroyed. Though it could still be found throughout the Inner Sphere by the end of the Third Succession War, only the Federated Suns maintained production of the venerable design.

The "Mech remained one of the Suns" most common medium-weight machines, being particularly popular with the Avalon Hussars, and was earmarked for use by several newly-forming Federated Commonwealth regiments after the Fourth Succession War. However interest in the design began to wane in later years, and while the 7D refit of 3047 with its use of lostech generated higher sales Achernar was forced to heavily lobby House Davion to keep buying them. Ironically the run-up to the FedCom Civil Warand the conflict itself was enough to increase demand and prevent the company from re-tooling its Dervish lines. In the wake of the civil war the Federated Suns continued purchasing upgraded Dervishes while the Lyran Alliance adopted the Griffin. Older models can be found in militia and reserve units in other armies, while small mercenary outfits have found the "Mech to be durable and easy to maintain.

During the Jihad a number of manufacturers began manufacturing "RetroTech" "Mechs using details of the original production standard of Primitive "Mech designs; one of the designs that was reintroduced to service as a part of this RetroTech manufacturing production was the original Dervish, with companies such as Sword of the Prophet Enterprises of Algedi producing Primitive Dervishes; production at some sites continued beyond 3079. [Source: sarna]

New Paper Craft: MechWarrior 4 - Mektek Deimos Free Mech Paper Model Download

MechWarrior 4 - Mektek Deimos Free Mech Paper Model DownloadThis mech paper model is Mektek Deimos, a Clan Assault OmniMech, which was developed by Clan Snow Raven, from the video game MechWarrior 4, the papercraft is created by BLaaR. The size of finished model is about 280 (H) x 223 (W) x 223 (D) mm.

The "Mech was first introduced during the middle of the 3060s, allegedly on the Kerensky Cluster world of Lum. However, Inner Sphere intelligence agencies stopped hearing rumors about the "Mech during the Jihad and it faded from memory. In 3085, the Snow Ravens revealed the existence of the Deimos to the Inner Sphere. It was produced on the Clan"s Inner Sphere world, Dante.

The 85-tonner is powered by a Type 255-rated Extralight Fusion Engine, which it shares with the second-line Assault "Mech, the Omen. Fourteen Double Heat Sinks are fitted to mitigate any heat issues that the "Mech"s systems may generate. Because its top speed is slower than more typical OmniMechs of the same size, engineers installed a MASC system, which allows the Deimos to go marginally faster and keep up with comparable older designs. The "Mech is protected by 14.5 tons of Standard Armor, where it again differs from more typical contemporaries.

When it first appeared in the Inner Sphere, the Deimos was considered the pride of the Clan and at least one was assigned to every cluster within the Snow Raven touman. [Source: sarna]
